Financial Quick Picks - MTG Hit List [Edward Eng]
If you take a look back at my previous Financial Quick Pick articles, you'll see that some of the cards I suggested picking up have started to rise in value. Although some have started to tick up in price, it's not too late to target some of the other cards on those lists.
Today, I'd like to highlight a few more cards you should add to your list as you make your way out to the shops.
Suprisingly, Merfolk is a pretty popular deck in Modern. That being said, Mutavault does a lot of work in this deck and is usually a 3 or 4-of. Also, Goblin Piledriver was just revealed in Magic Origins. Thus, you can be sure that people will be building Modern goblin decks around the globe. Not to mention, Mutavault is a very versatile land that's powerful by itself. The price can only go up from here.
Although Nykthos is going to rotate soon, this will be increasing harder to find as many people will probably target this during rotation. The uniqueness and power level of this land is quite high. It's also seeing play in Modern elves. Plus, this card can only get better over time as more and more cards are released. And just like Mutavault, it's a land. Real estate in Magic is just like real estate in real-life. Pretty safe. Valuable. Generally goes up in price over time. Get!
Aside from the land hoard this week. Here's a little foil tip.
If you can still find cheap foils of this card, I'd pick them up quick. It's a pretty powerful one-drop that could work quite nicely with Goblin Piledriver, Goblin Guide, and Warren Instigator.
